African Countries Fear 'Colonial AI' and Seek Tech Sovereignty

African countries are striving for technological sovereignty in AI but fear a new form of 'colonial AI,' which could manifest as control over resources, knowledge, and terms of exchange. Seydina Moussa Ndiaye of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence is working with the African Union to develop a strategy addressing AI's risks and benefits for the continent.
