Bristol Robotics Team Wins XPRIZE for Wildfire Drone Technology

A robotics team from the University of Bristol, part of the international AURA Foresight collaboration, has been awarded an international XPRIZE for its wildfire drone technology. Their autonomous system uses optical and thermal sensors with AI to detect wildfire ignitions within minutes. The technology then dispatches flying robots to verify fires and coordinate rapid intervention, aiming to prevent small ignitions from becoming destructive blazes.
