Humanoid Robot Sales Hit 7000 Globally Last Year, Primarily for Research

Around 7,000 humanoid robots were sold worldwide in 2025, primarily for research institutions and companies gathering data to improve AI models, according to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR). While this number is small compared to industrial robots, it marks a growing interest, with carmakers beginning to pilot these robots in their plants.
